Security Travel Tips

Have I.D. Handy

Be prepared to present valid identification as requested by authorized personnel at the ticket counter, security checkpoints, and boarding gates.

Limit Luggage

TSA guidelines limit carry-on luggage to one (1) personal item and one (1) standard piece of luggage. Personal items may include a purse, backpack, fanny pack, laptop computer, diaper bag, etc. Standard luggage may include a garment bag, suitcase, duffle bag, rolling bag, etc., provided the piece conforms to the airline’s size requirements and can fit in the overhead bin or below the seat. Contact your airline for more information.

Pack Smart

Certain items are prohibited in your luggage. Common household and workplace items can become dangerous when transported by air. Changes in temperature and pressure during flight can cause items to leak, generate toxic fumes, or ignite. For a complete list of prohibited items, please visit the TSA web site.

Answer Questions Honestly

Be prepared to answer questions about your bags when asked by appropriate personnel. Criminals may use unsuspecting passengers to carry explosives or other dangerous items onto an aircraft.

Watch Your Bags

Never leave your luggage unattended. Do not accept luggage or packages from others you do not know. If you see any unattended luggage or packages report them immediately by calling 702-261-5125.

Cooperate with Security Personnel

Be prepared to turn on all electronic devices including computers, cellular phones, beepers, etc. as requested at the security checkpoints. Remember that all checked and carry-on luggage is subject to search by authorized personnel.

Report Suspicious Activity

Immediately report any suspicious activities or individuals by speaking with an available TSA Agent or calling 702-261-5125.

Don't Joke About Security

Joking or talking about weapons, explosives, terrorism, or other threats while at the security checkpoints can compel authorized personnel to take appropriate action. Penalties can include prison time and/or substantial fines.

Follow Checkpoint Requirements

Only ticketed passengers are permitted beyond security checkpoints. Exceptions can be made to assist unaccompanied minors or passengers with special needs. Please contact your airline to make arrangements and obtain the necessary documentation.
