Assistant Director of Aviation, Security

Michael Bennett has worked for the Clark County Department of Aviation since 2002 and now serves as Assistant Director of Aviation, Security. He oversees security functions at McCarran International Airport, including badging and access control, the surveillance network, and the explosive detection canine team. Additionally, Bennett serves as the airport’s point of contact for security partners such as the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Bennett has a long history at McCarran spanning all the way back to 1972. Prior to joining the Department of Aviation team, Bennett worked in a variety of positions at McCarran, such as ramp operations supervisor for Continental Airlines, contracts manager for Delta Air Lines, and station manager for Argenbright Security, the company charged with managing checkpoint operations before the organization of the TSA.
