40 Million Passengers

McCarran International Airport hosted slightly less than 40 million passengers in calendar 2010, enough to make it the eighth-busiest airport in North America and rank No. 22 in the world, according to Airports Council International.

It's currently served by more than 30 airlines that connect Las Vegas to approximately 140 destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Nearly half of Las Vegas' annual visitor total arrives and departs through the airport, and thanks in large part to McCarran the U.S. Department of Commerce said Nevada ranked fourth among U.S. states in terms of the number of overseas visitors hosted in 2010. Likewise, Las Vegas ranked sixth among U.S. cities, thanks to 31 percent growth among overseas travelers since 2009.
